昨年、本校2年生の田川さんが、1年生対象の英語スピーチコンテストで入賞しました。

その際、ライオンズクラブ国際協会によるライオンズ賞に選ばれたため、ライオンズクラブ国際協会青少年交換プログラムにより、現在、マレーシアに派遣されています。

関西空港からマレーシアに行き、2つの家庭がホストファミリーとして受け入れてくれることになっているそうです。

帰国後は、英語部の行事にてプレゼンテーションをしてもらえることになっています。

無事に帰国し、充実した派遣の内容を聴けることを楽しみにしています。

Last year, Ms. Tagawa, a second-year student at our school, won a prize in the English Speech Contest for first-year students.

Having been awarded the Lions Award by Lions Clubs International, she is currently in Malaysia participating in the Lions Clubs International Youth Exchange Program. She departed from Kansai International Airport for Malaysia, where two families are set to host her during her stay.

Upon her return, she is scheduled to give a presentation at an English Club event. We look forward to her safe return and to hearing all about her enriching experience abroad.

金沢市内の中学校で3年間、石川県立金沢西高校で2年間英語を教えて下さったALT（Assistant Language Teacher）のCharlette Breidfjord先生がカナダに帰国されることになりました。

離任式の日の様子は7月17日の学校ホームページにもアップロードされています。英語研究部でも英語劇の指導やスピーチの添削をしていただいたり、英語ゲームのルールを教えていただいたり、様々な面でサポートしてくださいました。

先日、校内で英語研究部でもささやかなお別れ会をしました。

Ms. Charlette Breidfjord, an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) who taught English for three years at a junior high school in Kanazawa City and two years at Ishikawa Prefectural Kanazawa Nishi High School, is returning to Canada.

Photos and details from her farewell ceremony were uploaded to the school website on July 17. She supported our English Club in many ways, such as coaching us for English plays, editing our speeches, and teaching us fun English games.

We recently held a modest farewell gathering for her in the school.

Thank you so much, Ms. Charlette! We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

2026年1月31日（土）の午後に石川県文教会館で開催された

『第32回高文連英語部英語暗唱コンテスト』に参加しました。

石川県内のさまざまな高校から約100名の高校生が参加し、

それぞれが10ある題材から自分が選んだストーリーを暗唱しました。

本校からは一年生の中田くんが参加しました。

ALTのCharlette先生とJillian先生に手伝ってもらい、練習を重ねたかいがあり、見事予選を通過しました！

Judge（審査員）に選ばれた16名が参加したFinal round(決勝)に進出し、入賞の楯と賞状をもらうことができました。

精一杯頑張った結果がこの結果に結びつき、達成感と充実感を感じてもらえました。

この経験を今後の活動に活かしていきたいと思います。

Student Success at the 32nd Ishikawa Prefectural High School English Recitation Contest!

On Saturday afternoon, January 31, 2026, the 32nd Ishikawa Prefectural High School English Recitation Contest was held at the Ishikawa Bunkyo Kaikan.

Approximately 100 students from high schools across the prefecture participated. Each contestant memorized and performed a story selected from ten assigned pieces, showcasing their pronunciation and expressive skills.

Representing our school, first-year student Mr. Nakada delivered an impressive performance. Under the guidance of our ALTs, Ms. Charlette and Ms. Jillian, he practiced rigorously leading up to the event. His dedication paid off as he successfully passed the preliminary round to become one of the 16 finalists.

In the final round, he competed against the top students in the prefecture and was honored with a plaque and a certificate for his outstanding achievement.

This experience has provided him with a great sense of fulfillment and confidence. We are incredibly proud of his hard work. Our small but dedicated English club looks forward to applying this valuable experience to our future studies and activities.

８月１７日（日）の午後に石川県文教会館で開催された

『第２０回高文連英語部英語スピーチコンテスト』に参加しました。

石川県高文連英語部が主催、

ライオンズクラブ国際協会３３４－Ｄ地区が共催の大会です。

今回の英語スピーチコンテストは一年生大会であり、

石川県内の様々な高校からの一年生１８名が

それぞれが考えた３～５分程度の英語スピーチを披露しました。

本校の田川ゆうあさんが練習の成果を発揮することができ、

４位に入賞することができました。

この経験を今後の活動に活かしていきたいと思います。

６月６日（金）に

石川県女性センターにて開催された

第４５回イングリッシュフェスティバル（英語祭）に参加しました。

石川県内の各高校からスピーチ部門に８名、

パフォーマンス部門に１４校が参加しました。

本校はスピーチ部門に一名参加するとともに、

午前中の司会（MC）を担当しました。

その中で、

松本京子さんの『Revolution of PE Class!』

というタイトルのスピーチが２位になりました！

１１月２３日（日）に岐阜県である

第１８回全国高等学校英語スピーチコンテスト

東海北陸ブロック大会に参加できることになりました。

MCのみなさんもしっかりとした司会ができたと思います。

この日の経験を今後に活かしていこうと思います。

　昨年はコロナ禍でできなかったけれど、今年は英語研究部恒例のクリスマスパーティを開催することができました！！！（１年生７名、２年生３名）トナカイやサンタの飾りをつけたり、クリスマスにちなんだゲームを楽しんだり、プレゼント交換をしたりと最高に盛り上がりましたなにより部員みんなとより仲を深めることができてよかったです。ALTの先生が作ってくれたキャロットカップケーキをみんなで食べました。とてもおいしかったです。部長　原 來美
